Faith

Sunday, October 30th, 2005

Our church group has been studying the life of David, and comparing it to both the life of Christ and our own. One thing that stands out is unerring faith. And not just in David. At one point, Jonathon goes out to the Philistines, and says that if the Phillistines say something (I can’t remember what, exactly) than the Lord will delive them into Jonathon’s hands. And it happens, he and his armor bearer kill something like forty men. Now, I can’t even imagine that leap of faith. That seems to me like saying, “If my teacher says that this test isn’t easy to pass, than God will deliver a perfect score to me.” Obviously, not very many (if any) Christians can do that nowadays. We can’t really establish an audible sign with God that means DO THIS NOW!

Serious Stuff

There are 2 or 3 atheists at Guion that I know of. One of them once said that he had been told that he was going to Hell far more times than he had been told that Jesus loved him. I once saw this same person being asked about his beliefs. Once he had responded, the people who had asked him attempted to convert him by cussing at him, threatening to jump him, and spitting at him.
This person claims that he was once a Christian, but that he “realized the truth” after finding several “lies” in the Bible. The ones who questioned him and tried to “convert” him are one of the reasons that he despises all religions. I tell him that Jesus loves him and that not all Christians are like the ones he is threatened by. And I pray that God will show him the way back. I also pray that the Christians who attempt to punish him be shown back to the true course as well.

Catching up on some things

Ok, to start with Friday the 13th. That day I just hung around the house and that night my friend slept over at my house. They left around 11:00 am Saturday. Then Sunday went to church and pretty much wasted the rest of that day. MONDAY I needed to just relax and go nowhere, so that’s exactly what I did. Also the Olympics started and US medal count I think is over 60. Also around that time was new neighbors who moved in about a week before. Tuesday played with my friend Daniel (you may recall him from earlier) On Wednesday, I started bowling camp and learned some new techniques. It went until Friday with a whole bunch of free games, which we played over 50. I played with Daniel in the afternoons of those days (camp was 9-12) and that took all of my day up. Saturday I had to do nothing, seeing the rest of the family had to do something that day. Sunday I went to church and then did whatever the rest of the day. Yesterday I twisted my foot really bad and can barely walk on it. Took care of 2 babies with my mom and sister for an hour. And what to do today is just unknown. Whew. Well I pretty much got you all caught up on what I’ve been doing.

What’s been going on

Holly got back from space camp 2 weeks and a day ago and we’ve been doing nothing since then. I read a good book called “House of the Scorpion.” It’s a book for young adults, you know, my age…
My cat has been acting ‘normal,’ although normal for her is weird. The weather has been rainy for the past few days, quite gloomy. I blogged. It’s been a little bit since I have. Remember my first blog, “Why.”

Food for thought

According to the chaos theory, one infentese….extremely small thing can magnify over time to somethhing catastrophic. An example is a weather forecasting computer. You give all the weather forecasting info we have, but you leave out the possibility of a butterfly beating its wings. Over the course of a week, your predictions would be gibberish, if the theory is correct. I thought to myself, “Would a lack of a GBA SP cause a child to, over time, become a criminal, or worse, a politician?”
