Faith
Our church group has been studying the life of David, and comparing it to both the life of Christ and our own. One thing that stands out is unerring faith. And not just in David. At one point, Jonathon goes out to the Philistines, and says that if the Phillistines say something (I can’t remember what, exactly) than the Lord will delive them into Jonathon’s hands. And it happens, he and his armor bearer kill something like forty men. Now, I can’t even imagine that leap of faith. That seems to me like saying, “If my teacher says that this test isn’t easy to pass, than God will deliver a perfect score to me.” Obviously, not very many (if any) Christians can do that nowadays. We can’t really establish an audible sign with God that means DO THIS NOW!

Hey Jeremy,
Sure we can! When I considered the possibility of praying for a kidney donor for my friend, I asked God to show me how I could help. The next morning as I was again praying, she called and said there was no donor possibility. and out of my mouth popped the words, “I want to be your donor.” I sure didn’t plan that, think that, or know it was coming, but from that moment on, I was sure in my heart that I would be the donor and God would erase all blocks (and there were a lot of them!) Maybe not killing 40 men, but it was a sign from God that killed 5 months of walls and negative reasons why I shouldn’t do it. If you would ever care to read my journal of that 5 months, you would see many amazing ways how God “delivered” and that is in this century!
Just thought I would encourage you.
